Alexis Vassal (France)
Alexis, also known as Merman Arion, was born in Paris, France. in 1989. Born deaf, Alexis got his first hearing aids at the age of five. He discovered schooling and swimming and found a deep connection with the ocean – always the first into the water and the last one out. After watching “The Little Mermaid”, he was inspired to become the merman he is today. He always found the silence beneath the surface to be relaxing and granting him his escape from daily life.
Andrew Lau (Hong Kong, Greater China)
Andrew Lau is an experienced PADI dive instructor and also a professional underwater photographer. His passion for underwater photography led to him winning multiple categories of awards in international underwater photography contests. He is also keen on underwater portraita, which garnered him two years of awards in Voice of Ocean’s “Fashion Photo of the Year”.
Beatrice Rivoira (Italy)
Beatrice is an Italian marine biologist and addicted scuba diver. She started diving at the age of 16, following her brother’s and father’s footsteps, and she has never stopped since. Her passion for marine life and scuba diving influenced her study path and in 2011, she completed her university period with a Master’s degree in Marine & Oceanographical Biology.

With a background in military, commercial, recreational and technical diving, David Strike has authored several hundred diving articles. He is the recipient of the ADEX Lifetime Achievement Award. He is also a fellow of the Explorers Club of New York, and is the former owner and organiser of the OZTeK Technical Diving Conference.

Fascinated by outdoor sports since a young age, DouDou is an experienced underwater and animal photographer, determined to capture the beauty of life, and encourage conservation and exploration. She teamed up with China’s CCTV to photograph the most spectacular animal migration documentary on the sea floor: Described as “The Woman Playing with Shark” in a Chinese, it was a best-seller.
Ernest H. Brooks (USA)
Ernest H. Brooks – ambassador to the marine environment, renowned photographer, adventurer, diver and educator – has captured profound images in the blue. Armed with the same camera that he’s used to document life below the waves for over 40 years, and with his trademark black and white imagery, Brooks has amassed a portfolio unlike any other, winning countless awards, and being published in myriad international publications.
Gideon Liew (Singapore)
Gideon Liew has been diving since 1984 and is passionate about scuba diving. He began his experience just like most divers, being in awe of diverse environments available in South East Asia, from pristine reefs to mysterious wrecks. Since 1994, he began working in different dive stores and resort operations. He developed his experience, diving frequently as a guide as well as teaching divers from island bases to live-aboard boats.

Jim Chen loves extreme sports and underwater photography as it perfectly combines both adventure and art. Jonathan Lin (Singapore)
Jonathan Lin took to scuba divng in 1996 and has over 2000 dives under his belt. But before picking up underwater photography in 2011 with his first compact camera and a borrowed housing, topside, Jonathan had always been taking photographs of little insects. This was where his love for macro photography began, and even after many years of diving and many encounters with large, majestic pelagics, he realised that his passion for the art of shooting tiny critters in the deep was an unwavering one. From macro photography to super macro photography, Jonathan wants to show you the wonderful world of nearly-microscopic beauty – fascinating marine creatures which cannot be seen with the naked, untrained eye.
Jonathan has also been commissioned to carry out photo shoots for a number of resorts in well-known scuba diving destinations. Jonathan’s visual works have been published various scuba diving publications, various online publishing website, Airline inflight magazine and website, he also received an honourable mention from an US diving magazine. Laurent Lavoye (France)
Laurent Lavoye has been a dive professional for the past 20 years. He has trained many divers and instructors around the world, in both recreational, technical and rebreather diving. Learning to dive with decompression very early in his career, Laurent quickly became an expert at diving deep with mixed gases and various types of diving systems and breathing apparatus. Laurent is now the owner of 7SEAS Dive Gili and is regarded as one of the most reputable trainers in Indonesia.
Lynn Wu (Taiwan, Greater China)
Lynn found a passion for the underwater world during a trip to Palau in 2006. She likes taking pictures of macro-sized objects, and her work has been published in various magazines and newspapers. She has also won several awards including the Compact Camera Photo of the Year for Deepblu ADEX Voice of the Ocean 2016.

Molly began her photography journey in 2005. She got her PADI, OW and AOW diving licenses in 2014, and in 2015, she set up King Dive Club and Blue Corner. Molly also got her PADI Rescue Diver license and hosted the Ocean Underwater Photography Exhibition during the Li Shui Photography Festival all in the same year. She is now the spokesperson for “Photography Journal”, Xinhua News Agency, Sony, and Canon, and the photographer for Leica.

Ngo Ka-nin is a renowned Hong Kong actor, host and full-time artiste of TVB. Thomas Dederichs is the President of OMS – Ocean Management Systems, and the CEO and Founder of BtS EUROPA AG. He has been diving for more than 35 years, clocked more than 2000 dives, and recently led a Dive & Travel adventure team to explore wrecks in the Irish Sea. He has over 10 years of experience as a TDI Inspiration Instructor and TDI Advanced Trimix Instructor Trainer. William Tan (Singapore)
William Tan has been fascinated with the creatures of the sea since his childhood. While studying at Johns Hopkins University in the USA, much of his spare time was spent gazing at the marine collection of the National Aquarium in Baltimore. William travels extensively throughout the Pacific region judging underwater photo competitions, and photographing marine life for tourism organisations, scientific research groups, dive magazines, camera manufacturers, and resorts.
Wu Yung Sen (Taiwan, Greater China)
Wu Yung Sen is a 40 year old photographer from Taiwan, currently residing in Ho Chi Minh City. He loves underwater photography, and specialises in wide angle underwater photography and casting his subjects against inky black backgrounds for dramatic effect. Today, he translates his work and technical expertise into workshops for beginner photographers with the aim of encouraging passion for and an interest in the beauty of our liquid planet.

Zhang Fan (China)
Born in 1985, Zheng Fan grew up in China’s Hainan, and graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He is now a member of Hainan Photographers’ Association, one of Canon’s Ten Best Photographer, and he is China National Geographic’s special underwater photographer.
